Open kube

A basic unit for a predictable sculptural form. 14×14x14cm and 940g and very simple to make. It might be worth repeating and repeating. Bigger kubes at 8 - 27 - 64 - 125 - 216 - 343 - 512 - 729 - 1000. That is 3024 kubes which will take a while. I’ll start with the first 8 and then take it from there:)

Bench satelite and easel

The sculpture “Satelite” and the bench was ready for the festival Nyksund Ni which was on this weekend. It was great to see the bench in use by people enjoying the show. On the right you see a canvas which was painted by children at the the festival.

The festival was great! Great music and great people. I’m allready looking forward to next year and I only just got back. The guys have worked like mad to get it in place and they did it!

The bench and the sculpture will be sold this month to help balance the budget for the festival so stay tuned:)

Vertical construction beams

Vertical construction beams

Here we have the beams for the fullsize “Satelite”. Another four this week and my contribution for the festival in nyksund (www.nyksund.no) will be ready. I have seen beams in architecture with two “legs” but not with four so this is a new way to cook rice. I’m using them for some sculpture initially. I’m hoping that compact architecture will be my sculptural form and this is my premier piece introducing the beams to the general public.

Satelite

The satelite seems to work as a contrast in nature. I can’t wait to make the fullsize version.

Model for Satelite

Satelite

A reasonable sculpture that looks something like a satelite of some sort. Hm. This might be a way to go. I’m making two this week fullsize 320cm long. One will stand and one will lye down and can be used for a bench. The easel in corner sculpture will have to wait. I’m feeling that it’s too nostalgic with regards to what painting is but then again a painterly sculpture does not sound so bad.

Scetch of corner with easel

Here is a scetch of how the installation or sculpture I’m working on might look something like. It will if financed be painted white with the dimensions 320×200x200cm. Upon the opening of the festival http://nyksund.no/ni/  I will start the performance of painting the sculpture.

Model of corner with easel

This is a 1:2 model of how I aim to construct a installation called “Easel in corner” or “Corner with easel”. The corner will have walls, a floor and an easel with canvas placed in the corner. It might be painted white or orange before the splattersession begins.
