Bench satelite and easel

The sculpture “Satelite” and the bench was ready for the festival Nyksund Ni which was on this weekend. It was great to see the bench in use by people enjoying the show. On the right you see a canvas which was painted by children at the the festival.

The festival was great! Great music and great people. I’m allready looking forward to next year and I only just got back. The guys have worked like mad to get it in place and they did it!

The bench and the sculpture will be sold this month to help balance the budget for the festival so stay tuned:)

Change

Number 13

I lost touch with this painting I started outdoors last summer so I flipped it over with Cezannes bathers in mind. I imagine a canvas with lots of figures dancing about the place. It might be time to do it.

A painitngs progress 013

The air went out of me completely after our latest exhibit. I got the easel indoors finally and have continued working on this peculiar painting. So I’m warming upp with this one but my thoughts are on Territory 4 and 5 which are yet to be begun.

Stretcher and canvas

A paintings progress 010

It’s been raining lately and the backside of this canvas has been saturated with water. It had some affect on the paint but no real damage has occurred and the stretcher is working fine. I want to see how it holds upp and will make no effort to protect this canvas from the elements except from heavy wind. I’m breaking upp the technique introducing some heavier application of paint. Hopefully I will get some usefull textures that can be a fundament for thinner applications of paint.

To tell you the truth stretchers and canvas is not the perfect medium for painting. I prefer wood on a blind frame because it allows for a more brutal apllication of effort. I have to be somewhat more gentle with canvas which I suppose has an effect on the painterly.

I have three paintings on wood at work to the right of this canvas which have been lying flat in all kinds of weather since early May. No warping I’m happy to inform. I’ll be posting them next week if they are agreeable to me.

Thick yellow

It became all wintery. Still saturating the canvas to get the right dynamics.
