Scetch of corner with easel

Here is a scetch of how the installation or sculpture I’m working on might look something like. It will if financed be painted white with the dimensions 320×200x200cm. Upon the opening of the festival http://nyksund.no/ni/  I will start the performance of painting the sculpture.

Model of corner with easel

This is a 1:2 model of how I aim to construct a installation called “Easel in corner” or “Corner with easel”. The corner will have walls, a floor and an easel with canvas placed in the corner. It might be painted white or orange before the splattersession begins.

Blue curtain

After some investigations into the contemporary art scene and two failed experimental paintings my conclusion was to venture back into oils. I have not used oils since 1992 and it is a happy return. Due to the richness of the material I can work allot more directly than with acrylics and be satisfied. I hope not to discover a suitable style rather I will investigate different aspects of what a painting can be or specifically what a painting can look like. Liberated action is always far more fruitful than clearcut concepts of art. A theory of art will always evade the reality of art which engine is impulse and choice not logic and conclusion. I suppose making a painting is about as absurd for me as explaining art to a dead hare.
