Old wood
Friday, August 17th, 2007Here we have it. The rotting wood stripped bare. Now the question is how to remove it. I could just cover it upp with a new construction around it but I don’t like the thought of it. So I’m going to cut it out and replace the damage with new pieces of wood. Luckily I found some dry wood that can do the job. Am I upp to it? Right now I don’t know, the low pressure is having it’s way with me.
Windowdamage
Monday, August 13th, 2007This is how we found this room when we bought the house. A beautifull room despite the damage from the window.
Here is a picture from after we started to pull down the damage. A great deal of the timber is fine so the left and right wall will be left alone. The wood below the bottom left corner of the window all the way down to the kitchen bellow is rotten. The gaping hole bellow the ceiling window is where a window used to be in the original house. The damage and the fact that the structural wall bellow has been removed around 1938 opens up for a structural rebuild before we start changing the roof.
