I don’t use much green in my paperwork and paintings. In photography it is difficult to avoid in summer. It is green everywhere these days. This particular green is based on seagull shit. I call it seagull shitt green. I think I might base a painting on this photography. Like photorealistic seagull shitt green. 

This guy or girl came in for a visit. I could not resist posting it.

I have been occupied with these scetchbooks this spring. Trying to find my way so to speak. I have allways had scetchbooks. Recently I discovered Moleskines which are rather good with the elastic band that gives me a small kick every time. Anyway, I’ll post some of the pages I find allright.

So here I am. Hopplahey is a journal or worklogg about whatever I am doing at the time. It will be a pool of whatever I fell the need to put out here.

 An introduction may be appropriate:

My name is Chrstian Skagen. I do images. Usually with traditional techniques but with a sometimes surprising result. I try to discover new territories in the visual attempting to push myself towards somewhere I havent been before.  I like it. Sometimes I get there. Sometimes I just mess it upp. Both are fine and necessary.

I was born in 1973 in Stokmarknes. I returned to Vesteraalen a few years ago because I work well here. Its one of these places where nature not culture is the loudest.

I hope to make something interesting out of these pages. It will be fragmented and varied.
